What is spirit shroud 5e?

Spirit Shroud is a 3rd-level spell in the 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons. It is available to spellcasters who have access to the necromancy or evocation schools of magic.

When a caster casts Spirit Shroud, they summon a shroud of spirits within a 10-foot radius of them for a duration of up to 1 minute. The spirits can take on a variety of forms, including swirling around the caster or appearing as spectral weapons. They deal extra force damage on all weapon attacks made by the caster while the spell is active.

The amount of damage that the spirit shroud deals is dependent on the caster's spellcasting ability modifier. Additionally, the spirits grant the caster resistance to damage from non-magical weapon attacks.

One of the unique features of Spirit Shroud is that the caster can choose to have the spirits deal either radiant or necrotic damage. This makes the spell versatile, as the player can choose which type of damage to deal based on the enemies they are facing.

Spirit Shroud is a powerful spell that can greatly increase the damage output of a spellcaster. It is particularly potent when used in conjunction with high-damage spells or against enemies with low magical resistance.
